Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
This policy explains how The First Rule Is ("we", "us") handles your information. Questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
Your privacy matters here
We do not publish a list of our learners, and we will not contact your employer about you. We may disclose information if the law requires it. We recommend signing up with a personal email address on a personal device, not a work account or work laptop.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password, or sign-in details if you use a social login.
- Purchase details: what you bought, the price, the date and your billing details. Card payments are handled by our payment processor, and we do not receive your full card number.
- Course activity: your enrollment, lesson progress and completion.
- Messages: anything you send us, such as support requests.
- Technical details: information such as your IP address, browser, device and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies that help the site work and show us how it is used.
Your worksheets
Worksheets are files you download and keep. We do not receive what you type into them, unless you choose to send it to us.
How we use your information
We use it to give you access to the course, process payments, send receipts and course messages, provide support, understand how the site is used, improve the course, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the course, including:
- Thinkific, which hosts this site and the course.
- Stripe, which processes payments.
We may also share it with professional advisers, such as our accountant or lawyer, or where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use advertising pixels on this site.
Marketing email
If we send you marketing email, you can unsubscribe at any time. We may still send you messages about your purchase or account.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active, and afterward as needed for tax, accounting and legal reasons.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it. Deleting your account ends your access to the course.
Security
We use reputable service providers and take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no online service is completely secure.
Children
This course is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
